Ennio Morricone ha composto oltre 400 colonne sonore per il cinema e la televisione, oltre a piu di 100 opere classiche. Non era noto solo per le iconiche colonne sonore western, ma anche per le musiche da film di critica sociale e per film come "Cinema Paradiso", "Il deserto dei Tartari" e "La classe operaia va in paradiso".

Questo concerto del 2004 con la Munchner Rundfunkorchester e una delle pochissime registrazioni in cui Morricone dirige la propria musica. E stata la prima apparizione pubblica del Maestro alla direzione della propria musica in Germania ed e ora disponibile per la prima volta su tutti i DSP e su CD.

L'album contiene una raccolta rappresentativa delle sue musiche da film piu famose, tra cui Il buono, il brutto e il cattivo, C'era una volta il West, Un pugno di dinamite, C'era una volta in America, Cinema Paradiso, Gli intoccabili e molte altre.

Ennio Morricone composed more than 400 soundtracks for film and television, as well as more than 100 classical works. He was known not only for iconic western soundtracks, but also for film music for social criticism and films such as “Cinema Paradiso," "The Desert of the Tartars," and “The Working Class Goes to Heaven."

This 2004 concert with the Munchner Rundfunkorchester is one of the very few recordings in which Morricone conducts his own music. It was the Maestro's first public appearance conducting his own music in Germany and is now available for the first time on all DSP and CD.

The album contains a representative collection of his most famous film music, including The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Once Upon a Time in the West, A Fistful of Dynamite, Once Upon a Time in America, Cinema Paradiso, The Untouchables and many more.
